Buck Yeager

Buck Yeager says, “I’ve loved music all my life, and it has been my life for the past 20-plus years. But wait—there’s the fact that I allowed myself to become distracted. While I continued writing and performing, my devotion and reverence for the art were diluted. That fact brings me to today, where I’ve divested myself of those distractions and am on track for the music that has been waiting for me to discover!”

Here I am in 2023, and on October 18, I’ll be attending the CMA of Texas Awards at the Dosey Doe Barn in The Woodlands to receive the Entertainer of the Year Award. I could not be more honored! The fact that this is my fourth award from the CMA of Texas astounds me, but it also gives me some assurance that I’m still on track with my lover—music.

In the next few weeks, I will be working with a decorated, award-winning producer whose music I’ve idolized since my teen years. It will be my first time working with a producer of his caliber. Once again, I’m amazed at this opportunity and how much it means to be in the company of a mega music performer and producer with gold records on the walls.

However, I must confess that creating and performing music onstage is what I live for! Being onstage performing is life to me—all the rest of life is making plans to get to the stage and be with music-loving friends who also love to experience their music live. And yes, I’m a simple man—a music man.
