Pug Johnson

Pug Johnson comes to The Table at Madeley with a sharp eye for everyday characters and a sound rooted in the musical crossroads around Beaumont, where Cajun music, swamp pop, Tex-Mex, honky-tonk, and Texas songwriting all leave a mark.

Johnson started writing poetry as a child and picked up guitar at 13, building those early instincts into the albums Throwed Off and Glad and El Cabron. His road-tested songs have carried him to roadhouses, dance halls, and listening rooms across the country, including shared bills with Steve Earle, Midland, and Hayes Carll.
