RD Floyd – Live at The Table at Madeley!

Ralph Drinkwater Floyd, or RD as he is known to those close to him, is a Storyteller, an American Entertainer, Recording Artist, and Singer / Songwriter from Cut & Shoot, Texas. He was born on Lookout Mountain  near Fort Oglethorpe, GA, a small rural mountain community that borders Chattanooga, TN. He grew up in Shepherd, TX. He has lived in Illinois, California, Texas, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Florida, Arkansas, Louisiana before finally returning home to Cut & Shoot, TX.

RD began playing guitar at the age of six and began writing songs as a teenager. From the beginning RD knew he had a talent for story telling and poetry, adding music to the fray came naturally.  His music has been described as Troubadour Americana and is comprised of a little bit country, a little bit folk-rock, a little bit of swamp rock, and a whole lotta Texas. Though you will hear some tunes that highlight his travels to California, Chicago, New York and other places.

RD’s voice is reminiscent of an earlier era, it is big and bold and sweet and rough. There is an honesty to his music that comes across just as clearly as his big Texas smile and modest disposition. A big fan of Texas Country and Southern Rock, RD draws on many of his influences and combines bits and pieces of each in his performance and songwriting.
